Hey everyone! I’m trying to use PhotoGov to get my passport photo done, but I’m having a hard time capturing the perfect selfie. I’ve read that there are specific guidelines to follow for a photo to be accepted. Does anyone here have any tips on how to take the best selfie for the service? I’m not sure if I should focus on lighting, background, or the position of my face. Any help would be appreciated!

I’ve used PhotoGov for my passport photo and I can totally relate to the challenge of getting the right shot! The first thing you should focus on is the lighting. Natural light works best, so try to take the photo near a window where the light is even and not too harsh. Avoid using strong artificial lighting because it can create shadows on your face, which will cause the photo to be rejected. https://photogov.net

As for the background, you need a plain white or light-colored wall—nothing too busy behind you. Make sure your face is fully visible, with no glasses or anything that obstructs your features. Also, don’t tilt your head or smile; just keep a neutral expression and face the camera straight on. Once you’ve got the shot, you can upload it directly to PhotoGov and it will check if it meets all the passport photo requirements.

PhotoGov’s AI will help guide you if anything’s off, but it’s always best to start with a clean, simple background.
